Our third meeting 31 August-2 September 2016

During the period of 31 August-2 September 2016 in Nughedu Santa Vittoria, Sardinia, Italy, was carried out the third meeting of the project “Europe in the future-multifaceted and unified “. In the meeting took part 28 invited participants from the partners: The Municipality of Aksakovo with 12 participants with Mayor of Aksakovo municipality eng. Atanas Stoilov; The Municipality of Setubal with 9 participants including the Mayor Maria das Dores Meira ;The Municipality of Igualada with 7 participants.

The 3-rd meeting was carried out according following program: Programme

On the first day 31 August 2016, the participants presented their opinion about local authorities and their role in providing equal opportunities for the citizens of EU-What role for the peripheries?”. The Mayor of Nughedu Santa Vittoria - Mr. Francesco Mura opened the conference and announced the contest “The Europe, we want to be!”. The Mayor of Setubal Maria das Dores Meira made a short observation about real situation in EU and challenges of local authorities. The lead representative of Spanish delegation Montserrat Montrabeta Mensa –Manager of Social Cervices Civil Center spoke about European social policy. The mayor of Aksakovo spoke about international cooperation and useful meetings in the frame of the project, he said that only unified efforts will be successful to deal with contemporary problems of European union.

International Conference “Local authorities and their role in providing equal opportunities for the citizens of EU”

Discussion about “Local authorities and their role in providing equal opportunities for the citizens of EU-What role for the peripheries?” with

Part I Round table “Equal opportunities"

Presenters:

• Mr. SALVATORE LEDDA- project manager from Nughedu he presented the Project “Nughedu Welcome” about social eating as a way to include young people through opening their kitchens and bedrooms to foreign people.
• Mrs. SUSANNA FÀBREGAS PAGÈS from Igualada presented municipality migration care services and three projects which are aiming social inclusion of emigrants Presentation,
• Mrs. Maria Conceição Loureiro- Head of the Division for Social Inclusion and Luís Brandão- Technician of the Division for Social Inclusion from Setubal presented theifive sectors of social policy: intervention within vulnerable groups/social support network, social development planning and management, proximity and territorial cohesion, welfare promotion, promotion of citizenship and diversity. • Mrs. Bozhana Stoyanova- Senior expert “Social activities” from Aksakovo presented main priorities of local management in the field of social policy: Support people with disadvantages /children and elders/, support children in “risk”, social inclusion for minorities. Presentation

Part II Round table “Social policy in EU, what can be changed?"

Attendants worked in focus groups and discussed about main problems of social policy in their countries. Opinions of participants and conclusions were summarized in presentation. Presentation

On the third day 02 September 2016 – Participants explored archaeological remains and natural sights of Sardinia. They visited museum “Alamoju” and made a tour to discovered Sinis Sea Coast.. The purpose was to improve social communication between partner representatives.
